Spawned on Finland’s frost‑bitten fringe, I’ve been wiring synths to nerve endings since 1993— 25 LPs, 250‑plus singles, and enough remixes to clog the cloud. The press can’t decide if I’m a “living legend” or “music’s best‑kept secret”; I prefer both.
I’ve bent faders with John Foxx, Chris Lowe, José González, and co‑written Tiga missiles like “Sunglasses at Night,” “Bugatti,” and “Woke.” Side projects? Acid Symphony Orchestra, Sin Cos Tan, and the cosmic film score NUNTIUS with Jimi Tenor.
Three decades in, the rave still rages: my 2023 opus “There Is Light Hidden In These Shadows” drags voices like John Grant, Jake Shears, Art Feynman, Tiga, and The Beloved into its glow.

Jori Hulkkonen (b. 28 Sept 1973, Kemi, Finland) has been making electronic music since the early-1990s. After self-releasing on the Lumi imprint with friends from northern Finland, he signed to Laurent Garnier’s F-Communications in 1996 and issued his debut album Selkäsaari Tracks. His best-known breakthrough is the 2001 electro cover of “Sunglasses at Night” with Tiga under the alias Zyntherius, which introduced him to clubs worldwide.
Across three decades Hulkkonen has recorded under numerous names (Sin Cos Tan, Processory, Acid Symphony Orchestra and others) and remixed artists ranging from Robyn to Sparks. Long-player highlights include Man From Earth (2010), Simple Music for Complicated People (2018) and, most recently, There Is Light Hidden In These Shadows (2023)—an album made for his 50th birthday that brings together longtime collaborators such as John Grant, Tiga and Ralf Dörper. He also presents a bi-weekly radio show on Finland’s Bassoradio and continues to tour as a DJ and live act.
